The Ethiopian Community in Houston (ECOH) is a vibrant organization dedicated to bringing together Ethiopians and Ethiopian-Americans in the greater Houston area.

Founded in 2010, ECOH emerged from a simple gathering of Ethiopian families who wanted to maintain their cultural connections while building new lives in Houston. What started as informal coffee ceremonies has grown into a thriving community organization.
Over the years, we've expanded our reach to serve hundreds of families across the Houston metropolitan area. We organize cultural celebrations, educational programs, community service projects, and social events that strengthen bonds within our community.
Today, ECOH stands as a pillar of support for Ethiopians in Houston, offering a home away from home where traditions are honored, new friendships are formed, and everyone is welcomed with open arms.
A strong, vibrant, and united Ethiopian community that is socially and economically empowered and provides a lasting foundation for generations of Ethiopian Americans to be successful and active members of their community, integrated into the larger community while keeping their Ethiopian social and cultural heritages.
Our mission is to educate, engage, empower, and enrich the Ethiopian community. We strive to educate by increasing awareness of the issues and opportunities that impact our members. We engage the community by identifying shared needs and developing programs that support growth and advancement.
Dedicated volunteers working to serve the Ethiopian community in Houston.
